Recognize the Paris silhouette

Paris skyline silhouette

A low roofscape pierced by one wide iron taper.

Paris is a low limestone city with one iron exclamation mark. The Eiffel Tower is a wide-legged taper that narrows through two platforms and ends in a thin mast; even as a solid fill it keeps that long triangular outline. Around it, Haussmann rooftops make a sawtooth of chimneys rather than a wall of skyscrapers. A dome — Les Invalides or similar — often sits to one side, and a low arched bridge can close the river edge. There is no glass shard, no observation ball on a needle, no dense harbour cliff. If the skyline is mostly a horizontal roofscape pierced by a single lattice taper, it is Paris.

IDENTIFICATION NOTES

Find the
clearest clue.

Paris stays visually low. The Eiffel Tower works as an exclamation mark, while most of the city remains a continuous roofline beneath it.
