Taipei 101 makes Taipei unusually easy to spot. The tower is a tall stack of pagoda-like sections, each slightly wider than the one above it, finishing in a fine antenna. The repeated tiers create a stepped profile unlike Dubai's smooth needle or Kuala Lumpur's twin spires. Around it, the city is a dense mix of medium and tall blocks, with forested hills often rising behind the eastern edge. A low temple roof or cable-stayed bridge can appear near the base. If one tower looks like a vertical bamboo stalk made from stacked boxes, choose Taipei. The tiered crown and mountain-backed city are the reliable pair.
